Jen graduated with an associates degree in fine arts from Suffolk Community College and a bachelors in art education from Long Island University in Southampton. After college She taught part time for a year along with substitute teaching and summer programs. Not being able to land a full-time position right off the bat she began exploring other options within the field of art.
Jen had dabbled in the medium of stained glass, illustration and mural painting but began her tattoo apprenticeship near the end of 2001 and started working on skin in early 2002. She has now been tattooing for 14 years and has been the owner and operator of Inkpulsive custom tattooing since 2009.
Jen now practices in all styles of tatooing and works in color as well as black and grey but she prefers to work in the style of fine line and color realism. She primarily designs custom pieces and likes to work one on one with clients in order to bring their ideas to life. She appreciates when a client would like her to bring her own creative style to the tattoo. She feels that this, combined with the concepts and wishes of the client can truly bring the canvas to life and create an everlasting piece of artwork that lives and breathes.
